Washinomiya Shrine

鷲宮神社

One of the oldest shrines in the Kanto region, Washinomiya became a landmark in anime pilgrimage history after Lucky Star aired. The shrine saw its New Year visitor count multiply dramatically thanks to fan devotion.

📺 Scene from the Anime

The shrine's torii gate and approach path appear in the anime's opening sequence. Kagami and Tsukasa Hiiragi's family runs a shrine modeled directly after Washinomiya, and several scenes show the characters performing shrine maiden duties and celebrating New Year here.
