Lycéen tout ce qu'il y a de plus ordinaire, Kaname Sudou reçoit un mail l'invitant à essayer une mystérieuse appli appelée « Darwin's Game ». Dès qu'il la lance, il se retrouve plongé dans un jeu où les joueurs s'affrontent à coups de super-pouvoirs nommés Sigils. Sans savoir pourquoi il est embarqué là-dedans, Kaname pourra-t-il survivre aux assauts d'adversaires toujours plus puissants ? Note : le premier épisode a été diffusé sur une durée de 48 minutes environ, au lieu des 24 minutes habituelles.
