The Kamogawa Boxing Gym in Hajime no Ippo is fictional, but JB Sports Boxing Gym is a real gym chaired by the series' creator, George Morikawa. Founded in 1993, it has a statue of Takamura on its roof. The gym trains professionals and aspiring professionals only and has no fitness membership, so it is not a facility that welcomes casual visitors or tours. If you come to see the building from outside, please be considerate of the boxers training there and of the surrounding neighbourhood.

The Kamogawa Boxing Gym itself is fictional and is not a confirmed real-world filming location. This is the real gym chaired by the series' creator; the rooftop statue of Takamura mirrors the story beat in which Takamura becomes world champion and a statue is placed on the gym roof.
