Furude Shrine (Shirakawa Hachiman Shrine)

The Shirakawa Hachiman Shrine in Shirakawa-go serves as the model for the Furude Shrine, which is central to the Higurashi storyline. This sacred location is where many of the series' supernatural events originate and where the Watanagashi Festival takes place.
