Serrant fort sa guitare Gibson contre lui, Mafuyu Satou quitte son appartement sombre pour entamer une nouvelle journée de lycée. Endormi dans un coin tranquille de l'escalier du gymnase, il fait la rencontre fortuite de Ritsuka Uenoyama, élève de la même école, qui le réprimande d'avoir laissé les cordes de sa guitare rouiller et casser. Sentant que Ritsuka s'y connaît en musique, Mafuyu le supplie de la lui réparer et de lui apprendre à jouer. Ritsuka finit par l'inviter à se joindre à la jam session de son groupe.
