Le film se déroule en une journée des vacances d'été et suit un groupe de garçons qui tentent d'observer un feu d'artifice depuis le phare de la ville, pour savoir s'il paraît rond ou plat vu de côté. Pendant ce temps, l'un d'eux, Norimichi, reçoit de Nazuna, son amour secret, l'invitation à s'enfuir avec elle.
