La magie n'est pas le fruit des légendes ou des contes de fées, mais une technologie devenue réalité depuis une époque immémoriale. Le pouvoir surnaturel s'est transformé en technologie systématisée par la magie, tandis que la magie elle-même est devenue un savoir-faire technique. Un « utilisateur de pouvoir surnaturel » est devenu un « technicien en magie ». Les techniciens en magie (appelés aussi Magiciens) sont formés dans des écoles et universités spécialisées en magie. C'est l'histoire de : Tatsuya, un frère aîné défaillant et peu performant. Miyuki, une sœur cadette parfaite et sans défaut.
