Un jour, une porte vers un autre monde s'ouvre soudainement à Mikado City. Des aliens invincibles aux armes terrestres, appelés « Neighbors », commencent à envahir la ville. La seule défense de la Terre est un groupe mystérieux nommé « Border », armé de dispositifs appelés « Triggers ». Quatre ans plus tard, la ville s'est remise des attaques initiales et les citoyens de Mikado City ont commencé à s'habituer aux incursions des Neighbors. Yuma Kuga, un nouvel étudiant, et son camarade Osamu Mikumo se retrouvent à combattre un Neighbor...
