Hirasawa Yui, une jeune fille insouciante qui entre au lycée, est immédiatement captivée en voyant une affiche publicitaire pour le « Club de musique légère ». Étant la fille sans souci qu'elle est, elle s'inscrit rapidement. Cependant, Yui a un problème : elle ne sait pas jouer d'un instrument. Quand Yui se rend à la salle du club pour expliquer la situation, elle est accueillie par les autres membres : Ritsu, Mio et Tsumugi. Bien qu'ils soient découragés par le manque de connaissances musicales de Yui, ils tentent quand même de la convaincre de rester pour éviter la fermeture du club.
